What I have in mind is building a house. Pour maybe a 40’ x 50’ slab and build a metal building on it. The exterior would be the metal building. The interior would have a well insulated suspended ceiling and I think you could arrange the walls/rooms pretty much any way you wanted to. I don’t know if you would have to install a/c separate or if you could switch the hot water to cold water for cooling in the summer. So I guess what I’m saying is, build a shop/machine shed but turn it into living quarters. Some people might call it a barndominium.
Why a steel building? A wood frame shop is much easier to finish rooms on the inside. |
