
| Ok. I forget my language has to be incredibly clear. Mitt Romney, a Republican, originally championed a bill that the ACA was based on, in Massachusetts. It was largely seen as the "conservative" answer to rising health care costs. It was crafted by an MIT economist. MIT isn't exactly known as a hotbed of liberalism. But Romney was more of an "old school" solutions based Republican, and not the new version, reactionary, everything anybody else does is bad, republican. So when the ACA came to Congress, Republicans there demonized it. Obama was, admittedly, perplexed by this. lol. |
