Subject: old money or new money who`s to "blame"?

(for the problem in farming) part of me says the efficiencies of scale has gotten some to believe that the laws of gravity have been repealed. stereotypes pit one group against the other, everyone believes they are "self made".. just ask them, they`ll tell you :-)

I could make the case that the 40yr old farmer who buys every farm he can make a down payment on and rent every farm at any cost to get control of it might have at least his fair share of the "blame",, he`s the one doing the actual bidding, he perhaps bought his first 80 in the 11th grade (dad cosigning of course) and has never seen a losing year up until the last.

the old money guy with many generations of wealth that he`s responsible for has been a deer in headlights, too petrified to act on the $5,000 land that hockey sticks to $20,000. he still uses the 8430 that his dad bought in 1977 .. not the "8430" that the high roller traded off in 2009 for the new 8435 :-)

other than the guy bidding up the rents has to look in the mirror, this post is for entertainment purposes on a 19 below morning :-)
