Greensnap is a stalk broken below the ear. Down, or lodged, corn may or may not involve a broken stalk, might be tipped at the roots. Generally a stalk angle or distance the ear is from the ground determines whether you have a down corn claim.
Greensnap has a start time by growth stage, usually around V10.
