Emergency services are going back to gas in 1 ton for sure .
Burn 2x the fuel , half the power .
Tommy - several years ago I was active on the local VFD, kids and work became the priority and I gave it up. But back in 2008 we bought an International 7400 with ISX450 for a 3000 gallon tanker.
The ECM had an emergency vehicle setting, that thing would not derate for anything. Could plug up the DPF and it'll keep going until it blows the exhaust apart. Learned that the hard way. Was told nothing will derate that engine not even low oil pressure because the the emergency vehicle setting in the ECM.
Has rules changed for emergency vehicles and derate? |
