A heated fuel tank prior to electronic engines was a game changer.
I ran 2 fuel in a 78 freightliner down to 40 below.
I did have some trouble as the fuel heater used the same lines as the auxiliary cab heat.
At 40 below, I couldn't run the cab heater full blasting and keep my fuel thawed.
If I parked it had to be out of the wind as the engine didn't create enough heat at idle.
