How long should I wait to get paid for a load corn that has been shipped 60 days ago with out going to the state grain board and asking for a audit? I sold 50000 bushels through a large well known grain buyer. I have been paid on all but one load. About half of the grian took over 30 days to get paid. I dont think this is a Hanson Muller sitation. I normally dont complain as long as I am paid within 30 to 40 days of it leaving the farm. They also claimed they only found the load last Tuesday. I am set up for direct deposit so they dont need to mail me a check not sure why it takes this long.
Was this a spot load or a load applied against a contract?
POET and most buyers “here” pay once all the bushels are delivered on time / in full against a contract. They used to pay weekly for the loads delivered against the contract regardless if a contract was fully delivered.
If the contract wasn’t fully delivered, then I wouldn’t expect to get paid for a load.
If it was a spotted load, I’d be birddogging the $4 grand 2 days later. |
