Pittsburg, Kansas | There is a farm right next to me for sale. A lot of it in flood plain, as is a portion of our home place.
Back of napkin figures about 2% returns based on what I've been getting from my nephews farming our ground. Land appreciation doesn't mean much to me at my age and at current prices can only count on greater fool theory.
If silver doubles again from current levels, might look into it again just from diversification perspective.
I've been through land prices dropping. We gave 950 for a quarter section and a few years later my dad bought the quarter next to it for 350. So land prices CAN go down. | |
