Subject: RE: Honda generator engine low oil shutoff

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I had a Honda refuse to start for me last Summer. Turned out it was low on oil. Had another that didn't seem to run correctly on a transfer pump on a tender trailer. Turns out running it on a gravel road caused it to suck in dust and partially plugged the air filter. Tapped out the dust and it ran fine.

I purchased a set of air filters for our Hondas just to have on hand. They seem to be quite fussy about having plenty of air.

My Honda generator is sitting in the utility room in my shop on a four wheeled cart. I haven't ran it for a while, hopefully I won't need it the next few days. I should run it the next time I'm in the shop. Easy to forget.

My nephew has livestock on two places so he has a couple of tractor PTO generators. Last Summer he had his home place equipped with a permanent generator that should run the hog buildings, well and house. This will give him time to work with the PTO generator at the other location if necessary. I believe the permanent one runs on LP and does "test runs" on its own.
