| We have 60-70 cows in one group and 14 heifers and a few select cows in another group. I preplace bales in separate fields for each group. Move ring style feeders to the bales about every 4 days and separate the cows from the hay with a poly wire. I walk out usually every day to fork in the clean hay and spread out the contaimated hay so that I can drag the fields lighty with a spring tooth in the spring and make hay on them the following summer. spend maybe 10-12 hours a week doing chores. No daily equipment usage is really nice esp. in stretches like the upcoming cold snap.
