Subject: We agree.

I believe you're correct.

The problem is........that the Ag industry has gobbled up the money and wants more more more. Just like the healthcare providers. I don't have a problem making them get lean...........but our govt just doesn't seem to work that way. Not a soul can win an election campaigning to do just that. The voting public isn't wired like us crusty old farmers.

Todd.. we agree.

Set Asides.. got morphed into CRP.. acres have come out of CRP.. which needs a fence and a cow herd for a young cowboy.  That’s what “should” happen.. if Rollins wants to “do something” about beef.. do..

spit balling here.. Beginning farmer loans for fence to convert CRP ish acres from growing No till corn.. (and yes that’s what’s going on here.. neighbor is expanding.. the older dawgs who grew wheat for a loss.. are getting out.. he’s gonna run a sprayer over a couple thousand acres.. and grow corn.  The “crop” which pencils best.. with.. or without crop insurance.. just does.)

So conversion of CRP.. poor crop acres to pasture.. crap crop to CRP.. etc..

E-15.. we do have the capacity to grind more.. some plants will expand.. local fuel retail.. Jumpstart.. proves that selling cheaper cleaner higher ethanol blends works.  Grows over time.

If we really want to get tough.. Trump likes his tariffs.. “Do Something” about the US farmer subsidizing the South American farmers costs through the multi nationals.. Seed, Chemical, Fertilizer, Grain.  It would be interesting to see what Trump could accomplish here..??

Vaclavick said it well..

”The DoJ was going to examine the lack of competition in markets.. they signed an agreement.”

So where are they on that?

Maybe the multinationals should join the “cheaper food” policy.  We can’t “produce” our way out of this problem.. input prices MUST ADJUST lower.

the government broke up Ma bell back in the day.. time to dust that playbook off?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakup_of_the_Bell_System

Standard Oil was broken up.. why do we have only a couple major suppliers in Ag?
