Saronville NE | Is lots of incentive if not afraid of work.
Cattle ho hand in hand with row crop. Graze corn stalks from harvest to late January or Feb. Cheap feed. Chop silage, ahain cheap feed, that maximizes yr tonnage or value an acre vs straight corn. Hay or feed on yr less productive acres, so cheaper inputs that wont lise money like high follar inputs with low yields. Manure for fertilzer back on yr silage ground. If have irrigation can double crop, chop rye silage in spring, plant corn behind for yr cash flow the gross there here anyway will take 300 bu corn to compete.
Think outside box. Is lots and lots of incentive to have cattle. But wont be playing as much. Which in turn saves you money and makes you more profitable too. | |
