| I was thinking about that and one main argument against it is usually "but what about the renter??". if there`s a payment that is a bit lower than the prevailing rent in the area, no appreciable amount of land would be taken away from tenants, some landlords may make up difference (lower land payment than rent) for tenant to rest the ground and keep weeds down ECT ,
rent is $300 around here, i`d put some owned land in for as low as $200 for a year to tile and build soil with sweet clover. besides don`t "they say" we`re losing $100/acre the way it is? well, let it lay idle and be no worse off :-) and chip away at the 2.2 billion bushel carryover. | |
