I've built some the past 2 years. I really think we have it figured out now. Only problem is its a little tall for 500lb or less cattle. So far only have one sneaky little bugger that is getting out through it.
Only thing I wish I would have done different is use longer sticks of drill stem. I would have used a bar joist ontop sloping away from feed area 30ft or so and mono slope roof. But I didn't think about that in time this time. I will not be building anymore of the portable bunks. Nothing wrong with them it just takes more rail, and they really should be fastened down.
The fence rail bunk, 3 guys can whip out 175ft in an afternoon. 2 guys just really isn't efficient enough.
