I did six 6 bulb fixtures 5 years ago. The original fixtures were very expensive with high quality mirrored reflectors.  Process wasn't too bad bypassing the balasts, but the cost of 6 bulbs plus your time , can just as well put in new proper lumen and light colored UFO lights. Currently close to 20% of the 4' led bulbs need to be replaced, after 5 years.
