NW IL | I think speed limit killed the original concept. Somewhere I heard they couldn't get it to work at 5mph, had to be slower. I've thought for a couple years that PP would figure out how to make it work.
The fine print on the website says it is very picky which kind of seed lube is used. Looks like emergence and maybe leaf orientation are the big advantages. I'd like to see how they figure that into actual yield compared to their "old" system.
I'm also curious how it does with odd kernels like sweet corn, seed corn, or even popcorn. Or sunflowers?
I'm guessing they offer the speed tubes alongside the arrows for a few years at least until the system is perfected. | |
