Around here those 50 cow dairies have shipped their cows because after accounting for the high cost of land there's not enough revenue to make a decent living and replace equipment. This trend has been going on for quite a few years. I'm not sure it would work if the dairies expanded to 200 cows based on current costs because of the additional labor and capital required when you add the additional cows. It's difficult to find part time dairy labor, too. Some areas can make it work if they are tied to a milk processor that markets organic dairy products, but even those markets have had problems. Trump drastically increased the cost for tech companies to bring in foreign workers who have specialized knowledge, he should do the same thing for companies to bring in ag workers or even eliminate it altogether.
