What about land payments? Keeping the ground clean or planting cover crops? RE taxes? Equipment payments? All the overhead associated with running your farm? Not to mention what if SA just fills the gap and prices go up very modestly? There are lots of costs that are associated with farming that are not direct inputs. But you already knew that.
