There's some decent lower protein clears, but you are right about most. I'll grow IA 3054s, but it takes better than a 15% price premium for me to think about it.
Viking, Becks, and Lakeview have some of the top varieties in the conventional yield trials near me. I've heard good things about Pioneer 21A20 but haven't planted any yet.
