Barry County, MI | I like the pictures.Kinda reminds me of the 77 78 winter in eagleville mo, neighbor dropped in one day and said he needed a hand he had just bought a 110 head of toothless western yews and need a place to lamb them and someone to do it, so not being the sharpest stick in the woods we said we would help . well he had bought them for $10 a head he done a little trucking . and he didn't have hay so we found out if you r sheep don't have much for teeth you have to grind the hay well he didn't have enough money to buy alfalfa so we paid for that had to come from neb. we had a setup that wasn't to bad for laming .another trouble was cold but we keep the most alive of the lamb crop. but did I say we had to buy the feed to finish these lambs ha ha plus we were farrowing sows and finish pigs but anyway we got our feed money back and another PHD in sheep . he keep 10 yeu lamb for his initial investment of $1100 and we got the schooling ha ha young and dumb but who else can experience something as stupid as that . even yet I glad we did it. No wonder a good banker friend from Bethany trust in Bethany mo,let us out of Missouri with our hogs and old equipment and still owe them 40.000 dollars in 1979. got them paid back in a year or so . I guess they felt sorry for us ha ha the only place I ever banked my banker said just beat the check to the bank . Man I love them people and area but I was used to getting rain where I had farmed archie | |
