The only real improvement I saw from the Republican side (and that was Trump and not the repbulican Congress Critters) was getting the drug companies to charge US customers the same price as they charge people in other countries for some drugs. Might not seem like a huge deal, but on the other hand the same product should be the same price to whoever buys it.
This is a huge step but it needs to be followed through on and make sure loop holes are closed. I would like it to be legal to import prescription medication from pick 10 large countries around the world. Make it so we pay what they pay. Many drugs we pay 1000% more than some countries in the EU or Canada.
Next time you go to a doctor count the number of people that you interact with, I had a very easy routine primary care appointment today, I interacted with 8 different people from the day I set it up, to walking out the door today. That doesn't even include the billing department employees that will touch the claim or the prior authorization department that will touch the claim. On top of that my provider and I laughed because it was a useless appointment only done to satisfy the insurance company so a medication can be reauthorized. The bloat in the health care industrial complex is astounding. (The funny thing as I left I set up another one for 6 months to do the same thing what a waste.)
