I don't know if it's even possible for our govt bonds to get called. The problem will be that the next time our govt tries to sell new debt, the interest rates would go sky high in order to get investors to buy the govt debt. That in turn would require raising taxes, sshutting down govt services, elling off govt owned property, etc in order to pay the bills. In short it would crash the entire economy like the Great Recession. I don't think this generation would be able to handle it.
