Ams will pull the Ca faster than the Mg resulting in high mg. Better off running urea with gypsum than AMS. Per pound of N delivered ams is 2x more acidic than 28% or urea.
You will always be in an imbalance when you apply N and do not apply Ca. Ca leaves first Mg second.
