What are your printing habits?

Color/photos often? Inkjet-I have no recommendations on those, last one went in the trash a few years ago.

Color (occasional photos)? Color laser - we have two, one at my desk with a scanner (MFC-9340CDW-about $450 I think-not sure, but the MFC-L3720CDW looks to be similar & about the same price now), one for my wife at her’s in a different room (L3270CDW-no scanner-new model I see is about $350). Both Brothers. Only wish I’d have looked into which toner cartridges the first one uses and bought the second one with the same. We rarely print photos anymore, so the color laser is fine for our color print needs. It doesn’t do a horrible job with photos honestly, but inkjet is probably better in that one area.

Never color, light usage? I bought a little Brother black and white laser for my shop (can’t remember the model, but it was about $120). One that I can print from my phone or laptop. It’s ok, but quite slow getting to the point of printing. Get a more expensive one if you print quite a bit

The manufacturers toner cartridges are ridiculously expensive. I’ve just bought a set of two black, one each of the three colors on Amazon for less the price of one OEM cartridge. They seem to work fine, but I had to go into the menu system to tell the printer the cartridge had ink because it wasn’t recognized. YouTube to the rescue on that.
