It's in societies best interest to dis-encourage all the wealth from gravitating to the hands of the few. Since the 1980's we've been doing the exact opposite in the U.S. In the past, this has typically led to rebellions. Will this time be different?
I mean, the .000001% now collect like 12% of all the wealth in the U.S. The top 1% own more assets than the entire bottom 50%. Capitalism has morphed into a system where every part of it is trying to extract the absolute maximum it can from you, so the population will, by definition, always be in poverty, there can be no other way for the system to function. Every part of the system is trying to maximize earnings, which means the population will always be under stress.
