NE Iowa | Used to only have an HP inkjet, but 2 years ago we bought a Brother laser printer for BW printing. Laser printer so far is definitely the way to go for BW printing. We kept the inkjet for the little color printing we do and for photos, but switched to the HP InstantInk subscription program. Pay $1.90/month for 10 pages but can bank up to 30 which is plenty for the amount of color printing we do. Figured it'd be cheaper than buying new cartridges each year when they dry up. Printer monitors itself and if a cartridge is about to run out or dries up they send a new one and I throw in the spare I have that they sent before. Interesting enough, ever since switching to the subscription plan, none of the cartridges have dried up in two years with the same amount of use. | |
