Medicine Mound,TX
What is the procedure used to calculate "ideal" levels of plant nutrients in a plant. I guess I am extremely skeptical, probably to a fault. I feel there are so many variables to consider that skew these tests there can be no universal "ideals". We dabbled in tissue testing for 5 or 6 years. Fertigating or foliar applying what it said it lacked based on the tests, and it never had a good enough roi for the efforts. I felt like by the time the test came back, you could have gotten a rain and fixed the lacking nutrients, or temp can drop and fix them, or you samples sat in the pickup to long, and give false readings. It was kind of like moisture monitors in our climate, the only conclusion it told you was never turn the water off.
