Unfortunately there is no such thing as a “trusted news source” these days. A person can not claim the source as an indication of the truth anymore.

The fact that various sources are labeling other sources as lying doesn’t concern me. That indicates that the system is actually working because everything is being heard and some source will be telling the truth. Or at least some semblance of truth.

What concerns me most is when any side wants the other side to not even be heard. I want them to point out flaws in the other sides statements, not prevent that statement from even being heard. That is censorship. That is a strong indication that they do not believe their own argument is strong enough to stand up to scrutiny. Once the public accepts that behaviour as a means of determining the truth, even if it is done by the side telling the truth at that time, it sets the precedence of the public accepting censorship of the truth when they are the side doing the lying.

I am making that argument against both sides. I have no favourites. There is a lot of lying or at least “wrong” coming from every side of these issues.
