Like many queries on Agtalk a lot of missing information. Sounds like the people you talked may have had greensnap coverage only. That would not cover down corn.
What policy do you have?
Did you have Greensnap, Wind, Extra expense coverage? What was your deductible? When did coverage end? When was the wind event?
The rules haven't changed but they are policy specific and each company is probably different.
