SE SD | For cows, we have our engraved richey tags in left ear, colored tag in right ear, same number on both, but the colored one is correlated to which pasture the pair is going to go out to, calves get a colored tag to match the cow, right ear.
We have ours numbered to the first digit being the year they were first bred, so our bred heifers are all 500s, last years were 400s, etc. Have some older cows that don't match up to that system but eventually it'll be all of them. | |
