We'd just print more money to pay them off.

Years ago my brother told me he had the solution. Just sell all the debt to China.........not the measly 2% you referenced above. Then when it came to paying them back.........tell them to stick it. Bam!........we're instantly out of debt! That'd teach China to make such a risky bet.

At first I said, "That's ridiculous". The more I've thought about it............it isn't any more ridiculous than what we're doing now.
