 East of Broken Bow | I would put something in the NW corner, so that instead of a 90* you would have 2 46* angles so they couldn't hide their heads in the corner. Ideally, it would be set up so that the swinging gate could be latched at the center of it.
Also, if you put a swinging gate in front of the headcatch, and a divider going out the barn, you can sort cattle into 2 different pens as you work them. Could steer-heifer them or sort bred-open as they exit the chute. Make the gate swing far enough each way to be out of the way to get to their heads for tagging, checking mouths, etc.
You probably know this, and it may have been hard to draw, but if you use a double alley, having it narrow to a single alley long enough to hold 2-3 animals will make flow to the chute much better than a double alley all the way to the back of the chute. | |
