NW Missouri | In my 10 or so years of using write-on Y tex tags for our calves, I've never had an issue with it smearing (due to precipitation or a calf that hasn't been licked off yet). We write the tag from the seat of the ranger, and by the time it's loaded in the tagger, it's dry. The only time we've had issues is when one of the pen/markers went bad and wanted to glob ink if you pushed too hard. We did mess up 2 or 3 tags that way, but it only happened with that one pen. Not sure how long these tags would take to fade as we get Ritchey tags for any heifers we decide to keep. | |
