What countries/entities currently own the gold? Over the years I have heard reports off and on about various countries/entities buying and stockpiling gold.

This is just something I have thought might be at play. I have often heard how the fiat money system is basically built to fail. We can kick the can down the road but the end game will always be failure at some point. I have wondered for a while now if when the countries/entities at the top of the pile see the end drawing near they will begin stockpiling gold to position themselves to hold one of the most stable forms of relatively liquid wealth to capitalize on the situation when it does fail so they can basically buy the world for pennies on the dollar.

I just suspect that the financial world could abruptly change in ways that we can’t even imagine. I hope I am wrong about that. But if that is what happens there will be a need to have the general population of the world fighting amongst themselves so badly that we will not be able to unite and stand together against them.
