All calves get year + calf number handwritten on a z tag (for 2025 first calf would be 2501, 2nd 2502, etc) and an rfid tag. We are working on getting custom printed tags with the names for all the momma cows and heifers, easier to do with a small herd like us. get 4-5 years out of a handwritten tag
