Southeast Colorado | It looks pretty good around. With no cold the wheat has just kept growing and growing and growing. I was worried it may never go dormant.........but I finally see a little cold in the forecast. Wheat seems to always figure out how to make wheat...........so doubt there's any concern. I've just never seen us stay this warm this long. We actually haven't had an abundance of moisture either. Just plenty enough this fall and early winter to keep it moving along. The big wheat is probably going to need some spring moisture earlier than normal if it's going to finish as good as it looks today.
As for myself...........I finally gave up on the stuff. Economics just quit working. We only planted about 20% of our normal acres.........and wouldn't have even done that if not for the cows. | |
