Spraying ditches and field edges with selective herbicides to kill only broadleaves. After the first year you'll see dead woody brush, but after a few years the grass becomes dominant and there are very few weeds even if you miss a year later on. I tell myself I'm reducing weed pressure and herbicide resistance along edges but it mostly keeps the place looking a little nicer
