The data we have is the probability of a yield response. Its not an exact number because as I stated crops can yield very well over a wide range of soil test levels. PROBABILITY. It's a dynamic system and it's not numbers on a calculator.

It is the probability that an application of X nutrients will lead to X yield increase (or decrease). It is not an exact number because this is a dynamic system as all biological systems are.

Spoon feeding works when you are pushing extremely high yield levels because any little shortage that's fixed can increase yields by a %. Not practical at lower/normal yield levels since the % of the starting point is a lower yield gain.
