Southeast WI | The baseline means i have 10 locations, several soil types from sandy loam to loam to heavy black silt loam over 3 years of tissue test at R1.
Baseline in this case simply means I have data collected in each trial using existing, normal crop production practices. Once you establish a baseline then you go and begin the manipulation of standard practices however you see fit. You continue to plant areas with the standard practice (baseline) and observe if there is a yield increase. This is typical research and each year you need to keep the same baseline to have something to measure progress if any. Without a baseline how can you know your changes result in anything beyond chance?
Some comments told me I was too late when testing at R1. Original question i asked about that timing AND if there was a better time to observe nutrient levels. I never asked about applications as I've stated before. Not sure why you are trying to push a narrative that doesnt exist. | |
