We see this here every year, mostly with spring NH3. I have never seen it caused by burn though. Its always just timing of when the roots find the N. We eliminated it with a little planter applied N

While root burn is a possibility, more often than not the greener/bigger corn was planted closer to the nitrogen and got its roots to the nitrogen band sooner.
It’s pretty common to see the same type of pattern in fields that had hog manure applied at an angle with a Coulter or shank toolbar on 30” spacing.
It’s always been a thing but autosteer has made it much more visible because of the consistency of the pattern.
