We usually hit -5 a couple of times every winter and rarely see any damage. 90% of the time we have no snow cover either. In 2021 we hit -14 with exposed wheat and it was fine. The only time I’ve ever seen wheat winterkill was when it was dry at planting and it never established a good root system. Not saying it can’t be hurt but all the times I remember when we were set up for damage it didn’t really happen.
