Subject: RE: The lesser known tractor brands .

Middle Tennessee
Growing up in my hometown in the sixties and seventies most of the tractor brands had a dealership in our town. There was Allis Chalmers, Deutz, Ford, International, John Deere, and Massey Ferguson. In the nineties we had Belarus for couple of years, Mahindra around 2013 to 2018, and Kubota started out at our Massey Ferguson dealership in late seventies selling the little 20 horsepower tractors ( just look at how well that brand has grown ). I remember there was a good mix of all those brands with John Deere growing more popular over time.
There was couple of Minneapolis Moline U tractors in my neighborhood and Oliver tractors is what one dairy farmer had, like 88 and 1550. Plus few David Brown tractors, and the farm beside our farm had a new Leyland 270 tractor he brought in mid seventies and used till he got in financial trouble few years later. There was several Belarus tractors while that dealership was open in the early nineties, but most of those are gone or sitting in sheds now.
