Subject: Ok, Monday morning bull talk

After bull thread last week I posted. Thoughts on leasing vs. ownership. This came across my feed this morning while having coffee. Found it interesting their figures. I've always self-insured by just keeping more bulls on hand during breeding season. But last two years I've bought insurance. Kicking in mind do I go back to just self insurance by keep more bulls around. It sucks when a 5-10 grand bull dies for no apparent reason. I used insurance last year when a 45 day purchase died. But when looking at 3-4% insurance premium. Maybe just go back to keeping more bulls around. Bottom line is when bull dies, you need a replacement. Insurance check is nice, but it don't help when no bulls to purchase to get job done in spring.

Anyway this is a short video, 5 minute clip on bull numbers. Worth watching https://youtu.be/eeXwVTebigc?si=_wLsGitPxlgeHteg

My head is swimming with thoughts after listening to Corbett's spill this morning on Screw worm deal. Let's shift eastern cattle to Texas to be fed for cheaper grind beef. Send our western culls to Canada to be fed, bring them back for steaks at Texas Roadhouse.

Let the cartels ship lean beef to Russia, heck I don't know. It didn't seem to work when Montana tried to delvop Black Angus cattle for Russia and those countries a few years ago. Just spit balling this morning.

Everyone have a great day. Its dry and no snow in the west now. Next 90 days is going to be interesting to say the least. All I can say is if you want to purchase snowmoblies and enclosed trailers now is the time. Lots of deals right now. Even on ski equipment, the Intermountain west lost their ski industry this winter to Canada this winter. I hope they are making bank on U.S. ski tourism right now.
