Take-aways..... Nice 5th grade science project. I assume his son won an award. Strip till plants only remove 75% the amount of nutrients vs broadcast fertilizer. That was determined somehow apparently. I believe poster above stated only 30% was needed...not 75%. Which is it? For some reason, his roots in non-strips won't grow laterally. We used to call that "mohawking". I missed the part about whether his non-strips were conventional tillage or no-till? I missed the part about the end result.
Although I'm still looking & waiting, my statement still stands... I search a lot for yield data from strip tillage, in direct comparison to conventional tillage and either band application or broadcast applications of P&K in either tillage configuration. I'm always interested in following links to good independent sxs test results in long term situations. I will say they are hard to find
