Just an observation. Back when I was a kid Grandpa applied P and K to a high yielding field that had never had it applied before. It wasn't close to the house so had not had massive manure applied. IN fact, I never recall manure being spread there.
Any way there was no yield response the first year. Grandpa went back to no P and K.
That field was no longer high yielder, unless P and K were added.
We have always wondered if using the commercial fertilizer messed up the metabolism of the soil. | |
