north central Ohio
We get hung up on curves as that is what everyone likes to use for nitrogen and really doesn't correlate well to other nutrients. I do not even care for the nitrogen curve all that well. It could be a combination of of nutrients or all the nutrients adjusted for a yield curve. That takes it to a whole other level of testing. I think Ehoff in the previous post you had was eluding to this but whatever you are doing you should be able to trial. If he is in the total acre program I have heard David Hula say in more then one session he does not do anything that he cannot trial. It may be a combination for 4 or 5 things they do in one pass but does that combination have an rio? There may be a few things that will work over many states but each area has it's own limiting factors that each grower will have to learn. I know many guys give state extension a hard time but they are a good place to start but most of their research is only trying one variable at a time and not a combination. Everyone's combination will probably look a little different.
