Seymour, IL | is that the numbers the universities have come up with are based on soil samples. Alot of them. And testing that was done over time
the results are replicable and scalable.
Any one of the individuals may have had an instance (or even some repeated) success... but what is it being measured against?
It is certainly possible to catch lightning in a bottle once; or to have a local condition that allows a practice, but cannot replicate outside that limited area.
If unable to replicate and scale results, the analysis and confidence intervals will be lacking and there will not be the ability to develop rates.
Things do change over time, and the LGU's (at least in the Midwest) have revisited the analysis.
I put my money on the fields based on the university results.
And like has been pointed out, would like to not be spending the price for the fertilizer right now
but cutting it is not an option.... rental agreements typically spell out minimum fertilizer applications
Cutting on what you own and dealing with that later is different than cutting applications on rented ground.
cheers
