ecmn | Corn and beans are extremely good at getting P out of the soil.
No direct correlation between a soil test and the plant,.no fear to pull back. But there is a difference between applying none and cross your finger vs reduce bulk up front, test and monitor in season and feed when needed
U of M says above a certain level don't apply P. 12 years later and I am still not applying bulk. Few lbs foliar and in furrow meet plant demands confirmed by late season tissue test and crop health and yield.
Spoon feed K a gallon or two has replaced 100 lbs of Kcl pre plant bulk. Look at nutrient uptake charts and spoil the plant accordingly
Feeding the soil and the plant..not a wrong or right.
Feed the soil, farm biologically friendly system, majority of the plant is from biology and soil not fertilizer.
Spoiling the crop so it never wants is also good, efficient and better bang for the buck.
