Subject: RE: Ag Economy in Minnesota

Mn is projecting a surplus at this time of 2.5 billion for this biennium. 2026-2027.

2024-2025 had a surplus of 3.7 billion

My Mn property taxes increased between 2-4.7% depending on parcel. This is between 4 different counties. Not every county is like your county. That is why there is an average for the state.

There is less monies coming to counties and cities is due to medicade cuts by big beautiful bill. The state portion of LGA has remained flat. I am sure cities and counties were projecting an increase in LGA, but the dollars are remaining flat.

Budget for MN is close to 60 million when you count the federal dollars that are passed through the state, but the expenses and that Mn actually has a say in controlling was at 32 billion in 2025
