He uses better than words than I do. Very eloquent. I’ve always found there to be something effeminate about eloquent people
I’m reminded an exchange between Faulkner and Hemingway

Anyway love how he’s posting oil charts dating back to 1860.
And while he says 2026 isn’t 1974 I’d agree. 2026 is 2026. And while history doesn’t repeat it often rhymes. When looking at simple metrics rather than trying to understand the convoluted nature of world politic and economics, unemployment rate has seen similar levels to 1969. And last time retail had more invested in stocks than real estate was 1970
And there appears to be a cycle within commodities and I’d say it’s a 50 year cycle with oil
So I’d say 2026 is similar to around 1968
Certainly not 1974 because by that point we’d already seen an explosion in grain commodity prices
The gold standard is a good point he makes because looking at that chart from 1970 forward you can see a massive rally in gold prices. But getting off the gold standard and printing a lot of money would send gold thru the roof. But again I just don’t like gold. And India and Africa and China aren’t “using” more gold. They might be buying more but when sh*t hits the fan, I can’t run an army tank or tractor on gold bars. I can run it on oil tho.
Energy is the real coming crisis, not precious metals that you wear around your neck
But he does in it admit that
“It’s all about the oil”
